New Peli Hardback Cases

A range of stunning new Hardback cases to protect Netbooks, e-readers, tablets, iPads® and laptops is being developed. The recently launched 1075 case was the first in this series, with more sizes and versions to follow. Consequently the existing 1080 and 1090 cases have been discontinued and the new, re-designed versions, the 1085 and 1095 Hardback cases, will take their place. The new Peli 2710 and 2720 go Head to Head

Peli head torches have proved hugely popular and this successful range has expanded to include two new LED modes. The 2710 and 2720 incorporate the latest technology and are designed to include a wide range of features suitable for industrial and general purposes. The 2710 LED features white light, with night-vision-friendly Red and Green LEDs. This model weighs just 80g with 2 AAA batteries included. The Peli 2720 LED has a feature new to the Peli range, a motion sensor that will turn the light on and off with a simple wave gesture. This model offers variable dimming mode and three LEDs (two low level red, one high performance white). The 2720 offers up to 175 hours of runtime depending on light mode selection and weighs only 110g with 3 AAA batteries included. Both headlights feature a red LED emergency signaling mode that flashes the letters “SOS” in Morse code and a 4X optical magnification lens that allows for both optimal closed space and spot lighting. They also come complete with a rubber headband for helmet use along with a comfortable cloth headband, batteries and Peli Products’ Legendary Guarantee of Excellence.

New 1560 Laptop Overnight Case

Now in stock, the new 1560 Laptop Overnight case provides secure transportation for your laptop and travel gear. The 1560LOC features a detachable padded sleeve to protect 15-17” laptops. There are separate accessories pouches that also attach to the lid while a cloth lined clothes storage unit is located in the base of the case. Studio Case Version The 1560 case is also available as a Studio Case with the laptop sleeve and accessories pouches in the lid and padded dividers in the base, Ideally suited as a mobile studio, the padded dividers safely cushion and protect cameras, lenses etc. The 1560 Peli Protector case features stainless steel ball bearing, polyurethane wheels and an extension handle for easy transportation, as well as rubberised front and side grip handles for maximum comfort. Tunnel Scene of crime illuminated by Peli 9430 Area Light

In an elaborate heist theives dug a 100ft tunnel to steal a cash machine at the Blockbuster store on Fallowfield Shopping Precinct in Manchester. After digging directly under the cash machine the thieves cut up through more than 15 inches of concrete to steal its contents before escaping back down the tunnel.

The scene of the crime was lit by the Peli 9430 Area light.

Marathon Man

Dave Smith from the Peli Sales team has a challenge for 2012 – he has signed up to run the London Marathon on 22 April.

Dave first decided to undertake the world’s most famous race after learning that a close friend had been diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer. This provided the fundraising inspiration, and he was delighted to be accepted by the Dog’s Trust running team.

Although a keen runner for many years, Dave has never attempted a marathon before and he will need lots of support, along with important donations to his charity fundraising webpage. He has to raise a minimum of £1500 for Dog’s Trust before he can donate towards his friend’s care. Full details of his story, along with updates and details of how to donate can be found here:

Cover Shot

The Gorilla proof Peli 1120 case hits the headlines again, as the cover shot for the October issue of TV BAY magazine. Chosen particularly for the magazine’s Bags and Cases issue, the image shows the rugged Peli case withstanding the mauling of a Silverback Gorilla at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey.

TV Bay is one of the prime publications in the TV and Broadcast sector, aiming to “inform, innovate, inspire”.

Hard Case for Hardware

Protect your Netbook or tablet from drops, knocks, scratches and mishaps with the new Peli 1075 HardBack™ Case.

The Peli 1075 is manufactured in tough ABS, offering robust and durable protection, even in extreme conditions.

Designed as waterproof/crush-resistant armour for tablet style computers and Netbooks, the 1075 is ideal for commuters and travellers. Combining durability, security and style, this case was developed in a unique partnership between Pelican Products Inc and BMW Designworks (a division of BMW).

There are two versions now available: the 1075 with pick n’ pluck foam and the 1075CC with a shock absorbing liner for Netbook protection. Both versions are supplied with a sturdy, removable nylon shoulder strap so travellers can keep a firm hold on their gear.

Featuring an easy-snap polymer latch which remains shut under pressure or after impact, the 1075 also has an integral automatic purge valve to keep water and dust out while balancing air pressure. The tongue-and-groove lid construction and polymer o-ring creates a watertight seal.

Kicking up a Storm

The Peli Storm case has been chosen by Nike to present the new T90 Laser IV boots to their key international strikers.

The Peli Storm case (im2200) is often used by the military to safely transport and protect arms, but Nike selected this case to contain a different kind of weapon:

“We see a ball; they see a weapon.
We see the goal; they see a target.
We see a half-chance; they sense a goal-scoring opportunity.
Behind every great strike, there’s a process. On every great striker, there’s a deadly boot.”

A striking combination

The waterproof, crushproof qualities of a Peli weapons case combine with a laser etched, superior custom foam insert, to hold the Nike T90 boots perfectly. The finishing touches include screenprinted “T90” and Nike logo on the case lid and a unique decal for each star player.

Peli UK worked in partnership with branding designers, Accept & Proceed who were responsible for the concept, design and art direction on this project.
Account manager David Smith commented “All parties were delighted with this full time result. It has demonstrated the features we can produce in both custom foam and branding the cases so effectively.”

Brilliant Safety Lighting from Peli!

The new 9435 Area light was launched on the Peli UK stand at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen. The 9435 is the first Peli Area Safety light with an ATEX approval and is the latest addition to the successful and expanding range of Peli Area Lighting systems.

This rechargeable work light is certified for use in hazardous areas (ATEX Zone 2). Weighing less than 8kg, the Peli 9435 unit is easy to carry on site. It is highly versatile, the mast extends to almost 1 metre and swivels 360° while the head can be tilted to angle the light where required The new 9435 is silent running and has a dual power mode, with a light duration of approx. 10 hours (economy mode).

Ideal for industrial use, Peli Area lighting systems are rugged units offering a safe, economic and convenient alternative to generator powered lighting.
There are no fumes emitted and no liquid fuel is required, thus improving worker safety and adding to the environmental benefits of this range.

Peli on the Telly!

The BBC visited Peli UK to feature Peli Protector Cases on their regional news programme, North West Tonight. The BBC featured the 1120 case model used by the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust to hold a camera for one of their Gorillas to film himself. Colin Sykes, reporter on North West Tonight, filmed the article at our Glossop HQ. The news item was billed as “A Derbyshire company helping this ape put himself in the picture” and included the Gorilla’s film footage. This shows the case being subjected to everything a 200kg+ Gorilla can to do it – throwing the case around without any damage to the camera inside. The crushproof, dustproof and gorilla proof qualities of Peli Protector cases were the basis of the report which was featured on both the lunchtime bulletin and the main evening news.

Peli cases – now Gorilla Proof!

We always knew Peli Protector Cases were tough equipment cases built to withstand the harshest handling but they have now proved to be …Gorilla proof! The Peli 1120 case was recently used by the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey as an enrichment device for their Silverback Gorilla, Ya Kwanza. The 1120 Peli case was customised to hold a small, HD camera to allow the Silverback to film himself. It was covered in oats and honey and also contained some raisins which challenged Ya Kwanza to investigate the case, encouraging mental stimulation. The case was subjected to everything a 200kg+ Gorilla can do to it - he shook it, he threw it and he gnawed at it to get the raisins out. The film, which can be viewed by clicking here shows the case being thrown around without any damage to the camera inside. The HD camera filmed some remarkable and unusual footage up close and personal. Andrew Scott-Miller, responsible for Events and Marketing at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, commented “Our gorilla keeper came up with this idea and it clearly required an indestructible box and Peli's reputation of indestructible equipment was exactly what we needed.”

Peli cases at the top of the world!

Peli cases were used in the harshest conditions of the polar ice cap during the “Walking with the Wounded” attempt by wounded soldiers to walk to the geographic North Pole.

Peli cases were chosen by the film crew, who accompanied the team, filming for a forthcoming documentary series for a major British broadcaster. Peli cases were used to safely store and protect the crew’s vital gear in challenging conditions for both man and equipment.

The 2 man crew dragged all their kit (both technical and personal) behind them in pulks (sleds) all the way with the Soldiers. They really walked with the wounded, all 160miles to the pole, filming and living in -35C for the whole trip.
Producer, Alexis Giradet, explained “It was a tough job, certainly the hardest I have ever done, but we managed it in the end and I hope we managed to capture an amazing adventure.

	The Peli cases protected all my tape stock and most importantly my precious rushes from the spindrift, the bitter winds and occasional splashes of freezing Arctic sea. Weight was a key issue and the small Peli Microcases were, as ever the perfect solution.”

The crew is seen above interviewing the expedition’s patron HRH Prince Harry, who joined the team during the trek. They reached the geographic North Pole in a remarkably quick thirteen days. After battling temperatures of minus 38c, with winds bringing the temperature down yet further, the Walking with the Wounded team covered this unsupported expedition far quicker than most able bodied teams.

Peli Lock Discontinued

The Peli lock (1506) has been discontinued with immediate effect. The alternative is the new Peli TSA cable lock (1518).
